A one-and-one-half-inch curtain rod terminates inside a painted metal sleeve recessed within a half-inch painted hardwood box end. The assembly is secured by a two-inch drop pin with a cotter pin. Surrounding construction includes one-inch gypsum board and three-quarter-inch painted hardwood framing elements adjacent to the curtain.
