A concrete curb and gutter assembly abuts a concrete walk with a thickened edge separated by a one-half-inch expansion joint. The gutter features an eighteen-inch width with a one-inch-per-foot slope, a three-eighths-inch lip, and a six-inch vertical face with a one-inch radius at the base. The concrete walk includes a thickened edge with a variable depth dimension of x and a minimum depth of two times x, extending eighteen inches minimum into natural grade over compacted subgrade. The curb and gutter bear on a prepared gravel base over natural grade. Edges at the top of the curb are tooled to a one-half-inch radius. Notes specify expansion joints spaced at sixteen feet on center maximum and at curve tangents and corners.
