An interior door sill assembly sits above a concrete slab and features a marble threshold measuring 1/2-inch thick by the frame width set over a bond coat. Adjacent flooring materials such as carpet, VCT, sheet vinyl, and tiles meet at a change of flooring material aligned with the center line of the door, separated by a 1/4-inch expansion joint. The door leaf is undercut by 3/4-inch except at fire-rated doors and where noted otherwise, allowing a maximum 1/2-inch clearance above the finished floor. A door frame is positioned behind the assembly, and door thickness, fire rating, and finish are specified in the door schedule.
