A typical 1-hour fire-rated ceiling assembly is constructed with a six-inch metal stud framed below a three-quarter-inch fire-rated plywood deck. The underside of the ceiling framing is finished with two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board. The assembly complies with Gypsum Association file number 4503.
