A partition top track connects beneath the flange of a structural steel beam using a Type S fastener with a stand-off washer spaced at a maximum of sixteen inches on center, or alternatively a powder-driven fastener at two feet on center through the slot in the track. The slotted track accommodates vertical movement while laterally restraining the partition. S12 fasteners with stand-off washers are installed on each side to secure the framing to the partition assembly as scheduled.
