A vertical steel plate extends six inches above the decorative concrete paving to form a curb edge, backed by joint filler and sealant. The paving rests on a structural cast-in-place concrete slab with insulation layers below. A hot-dipped galvanized expansion anchor secures the steel plate assembly directly to the structural slab.
