A slotted head track is secured to deck Z-clips with two number twelve sheet metal screws beneath a concrete deck and structural steel beam. Sixteen gauge Z-clips are spaced at sixteen inches on center and fastened to the beam web with two number ten self-tapping screws prior to spray-on fireproofing application. Mineral wool insulation fills the head assembly, protected by an elastomeric spray firestop installed per manufacturer instructions to satisfy tested UL assemblies HW-D-0635 for one and two-hour ratings. A partition type and subtype as scheduled completes the interior side of the assembly.
