An aluminum window system is installed atop a four-and-a-half-inch-wide interior metal stud partition, set on shims as required and anchored per manufacturer recommendations. A quarter-inch glass pane is installed within the aluminum frame. Backer rod and sealant are applied on both sides of the window sill joint for weather and air sealing. The interior partition consists of metal stud framing with gypsum board sheathing, detailed per structural and architectural plans.
