This double-stud wall assembly utilizes 3-5/8 inch 22 mil metal studs spaced at 16 inches on center with 3-1/2 inch sound batt insulation housed in each stud cavity. The inner face of the chase features 5/8 inch gypsum board or 5/8 inch moisture-resistance gypsum board, while the wet side is finished with 1/2 inch Dens Shield tile backer board receiving ceramic tile over presanded dryset or latex portland cement mortar. Ceiling joists frame into the assembly with joint reinforcing and 5/8 inch gypsum board applied at the ceiling plane. Base conditions include ceramic tiles terminating at the finished floor with joint reinforcing at corners.
