An exterior hollow metal door head assembly integrates with a framed wall finished in plaster and stucco. The hollow metal frame is secured with fasteners through the jamb and header sections, maintaining a wall thickness dimension plus a one-half-inch tolerance. Weatherstripping and sealant are applied at the exterior door stop transition to seal the opening against moisture intrusion.
