This wall assembly is rated for three hours and features exterior wood cladding attached over Z-clip channels with black-painted channels. Rigid insulation fills the exterior layer, while the core consists of one-and-five-eighths-inch steel studs insulated with batt insulation where required. Both sides of the stud framing are finished with two layers of three-quarter-inch Type X gypsum board. The overall assembly thickness is nine inches and conforms to CBC Table 721.1(2) GA WP #2930.
