A suspended catwalk assembly is anchored from an overhead roof beam using a hollow structural section hanger suspended at ten feet on center typical. An L3x3x1/4 angle brace typical at the hanger ties back to a W10x15 brace beam running in the longitudinal direction. The bottom of the hollow structural section hanger connects to a walkway formed by two and a half inches of normal weight concrete over a two-inch twenty-gauge metal deck. Gusset plates measuring three-eighths by six inches are provided at the top and bottom with machine bolts and three-eighths inch stiffener plates. Fillet welds of three-sixteenths inch and one-quarter inch sizes secure the structural steel connections.
