The assembly consists of a 1 1/2-inch outside diameter galvanized steel pipe guardrail supported by vertical posts of the same diameter. These posts are spaced at 4 feet on center and are secured into a concrete retaining wall or mat slab using an epoxy-set connection. A steel embed plate is provided at the concrete surface to facilitate the connection, with specific structural requirements referenced for the plate and concrete anchorage. The top of pavement elevation is established relative to the concrete base.
