An alternate slotted angle strut is secured to the stud using a minimum number eight sheet metal screw at typical stud wall spacing maximum. A perimeter hanger wire is tied through the assembly, maintaining a minimum three-quarter-inch and maximum one-and-one-quarter-inch clearance from the wall finish. A horizontal number six ringshank nail provides additional fastening. An eight-inch maximum dimension governs the ceiling suspension clearance from the perimeter wall.
