A concrete curb and gutter assembly abuts a concrete walk with a thickened edge, separated by a half-inch expansion joint. The curb features a six-inch vertical face with a one-inch radius at the base and a gutter pan sloping at three-eighths of an inch with a one-inch lip. The walk rests on compacted aggregate base with a minimum total depth of eighteen inches and a variable thickness denoted as two times x per structural plans. Tooled one-half-inch radius edges finish the top corners of the curb. Expansion joints are specified at sixteen feet on center maximum and at curve tangents and corners.
