A stair guardrail and handrail assembly is anchored to a structural concrete floor. Vertical one-and-one-quarter-inch nominal diameter steel pipe posts are spaced at a maximum of forty-two inches on center unless otherwise noted, rising from a steel channel embedded at the concrete slab edge. A quarter-inch steel plate gusset is provided at each vertical post. Seven equal spaces of horizontal one-and-one-quarter-inch nominal diameter steel pipe rails maintain a clear space of less than four inches between divisions. A stair handrail constructed of one-and-one-quarter-inch nominal diameter steel pipe is supported by a five-eighths-inch diameter steel bar bracket returning to the face of the guardrail with a steel endcap. All stair railing connections are welded and ground smooth.
