A hardwood bench features eased edges and a clear polyurethane finish mounted to a steel support assembly. The bench top is secured by four equally spaced flat head wood screws through a ten-gauge by seven-inch square steel plate, which is painted. This plate connects to a two-and-a-half-inch diameter steel pipe support spaced at a maximum of thirty-six inches on center and six inches from each end. The vertical pipe support is welded to a ten-gauge by eight-by-six-inch plate with a three-sixteenths-inch weld. The entire assembly is anchored to a concrete slab-on-grade using three-eighths-inch diameter wedge anchors with three inches of embedment.
