A 1 1/2-inch outside diameter maximum steel pipe handrail is supported by a 1/2-inch by 3/4-inch flat bar bracket welded to both the rail and a 3-inch diameter wall mount plate. The wall assembly incorporates a steel plate backing as required by the stair manufacturer, anchored at a typical dimension of 36 inches to the floor. An end cap is welded to the pipe, maintaining a maximum distance of 8 inches to the bracket arm. A minimum of two brackets are required per handrail with a maximum spacing of 5 feet on center.
