A stainless steel clamp secures the pipe boot flashing, which is hot air welded directly to the roof membrane. Spray foam insulation fills the void around the penetration, sealed at the top with sealant tooled to drain. The vapor retarder extends up the penetration and terminates two inches below the top of the insulation to maintain separation from the roofing membrane. Asphaltic mastic seals the vapor retarder around the pipe penetration.
