An existing hollow metal door frame interfaces with an existing structural steel frame and an existing insulated metal panel wall assembly. A galvanized sheet metal drip flashing is installed at the exterior above the frame. A metal backer is tack welded to the existing metal substrate. Existing sealant is applied at both sides of the hollow metal frame junctions.
