A two-hour fire-rated shaft wall assembly terminates near a concrete-filled metal deck slab and a steel beam protected with an intumescent fire-resistive coating. The gypsum wallboard partition utilizes kicker studs for lateral bracing against the floor structure above. A horizontal hollow structural section receives paint finish PNT-11 and connects to a vertical steel mullion with a steel attachment. Fire-rated glass glazed with GLI-7 is integrated alongside mineral wool insulation. A linear wood ceiling occurs below the floor slab with a one-inch clearance detail.
