This assembly consists of back-to-back E shaft wall studs or C-H shaft wall studs faced with one layer of 5/8-inch gypsum board on each side. A 1-inch gypsum shaft liner board is installed between the stud cavities with the non-symbol side facing inward. Sound attenuation blankets or acoustical insulation are included within the stud cavity where scheduled per the fire test design UL U415(E). Partition thicknesses range from 3-3/4 inches to 7-1/4 inches depending on the stud size and configuration, achieving STC ratings from 41 to 52.
