A continuous 22-gauge minimum 3-inch deep leg deflection track is attached to the fluted steel deck at 12 inches on center maximum. The gap between the deck, beam, and top of the wall is filled with mineral wool insulation. Gypsum board is attached to a continuous 2-inch wide by 22-gauge metal strap at 8 inches on center maximum, leaving the gypsum board and studs unattached to the deflection track in this designated area. Sprayed fire-resistive material is applied to the beam flange beyond, and spray-applied firestop material is applied on each side with a minimum 1/2-inch overlap at the gypsum board.
