A plastic laminate countertop with a coved nose and face apron is supported by two-by-four wood framing and anchored to a wall of three-and-five-eighths-inch structural studs at sixteen inches on center. Continuous two-by-eight wood backing is installed behind the counter framing across all walls, supplemented by two-by-four blocking at each support and between lavatories. The counter load is transferred to the wall framing via a galvanized and painted bracket constructed from a one-and-one-half-inch by three-eighths-inch bent bar with a one-half-inch diameter steel rod brace, secured through the wall into the backing at two feet on center. Above the counter, a backsplash meets a mirror mounted on the wall face.
