A typical slotted head track is fastened to a concrete deck with flutes running perpendicular to the partition. Attachment uses Hilti X-U powder-driven fasteners with one-and-one-quarter-inch embedment or one-quarter-inch-diameter expansion bolts spaced at twelve inches on center. At non-concreted roofs, two number-twelve sheet metal screws are used at twelve inches on center. Mineral wool insulation plugs fill the concrete deck flute voids above the track. Elastomeric spray firestop is applied at rated assemblies per manufacturer instructions, conforming to UL design HW-D-0043 for a one-hour assembly.
