A concrete slab cast over profiled metal decking bears on the top flange of a wide-flange steel beam at the roof edge assembly. Insulation and roof buildup extend horizontally across the slab towards a concrete parapet or edge curb at the perimeter. The steel beam provides structural support beneath the concrete-filled metal deck.
