An inside corner assembly for a shaft wall comprises metal CH studs and metal J-runners with typical one-inch shaft liner panels. Layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum wallboard finish the faces of the assembly. Corner reinforcement is applied at the internal junction to protect the edge and maintain the shaft enclosure integrity.
