An 16-gauge galvanized steel cover plate wraps the exterior face below a stainless steel elevator threshold supplied by the manufacturer. The threshold and its structural support are provided by the elevator manufacturer, aligning flush with the scheduled flooring finish. A bead of sealant seals the joint between the threshold assembly and the adjacent floor slab.
