This non-rated acoustical partition consists of metal studs framed with acoustical insulation placed in the cavity. One side is finished with two layers of gypsum board, while the opposite side incorporates one layer of one-half-inch fire-retardant treated plywood backing combined with one layer of gypsum board. The assembly is detailed to provide sound attenuation for interior spaces requiring enhanced acoustic privacy without a fire rating.
