An aluminum storefront system mullion is set below a concrete wall with a three-eighth-inch fluted non-metallic shim and additional shims as required. Insulated glass and spandrel glass are installed within the framing, with flat black painting applied behind the spandrel glass. A one-inch diameter venting hole is provided in the concrete above the assembly. Backer rod and sealant seal the joint between the storefront and the concrete, coordinated with the storefront weep system. Interior furring is omitted for clarity.
