An acoustical metal stud partition terminates at a structural concrete column. Non-structural metal framing supports layers of gypsum board on both sides of the wall cavity. Acoustic blanket insulation fills the stud cavity to reduce sound transmission. Acoustical joint sealant is applied at the perimeter joints between the gypsum board and the column face to maintain the acoustic seal.
