Horizontal bridging runs continuously through cold-formed metal framing studs, secured at each intersection with a 1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch by 16 gauge clip angle. Four number 10 screws fasten the clip to the stud web and flange as indicated. Sizing requirements specify a 2 1/2 inch by 16 gauge horizontal bridging with a 1/2 inch flange for 6 inch studs, and a 1 1/2 inch by 16 gauge horizontal bridging with a 1/2 inch flange for 3 5/8 inch or 4 inch studs. A typical bridging splice detail shows overlapping members fastened with two number 10 screws over a 4 inch dimension with a 6 inch lap length.
