A hollow structural section measuring four inches by four inches by one-quarter inch thick connects to a seven-inch by eight-inch by one-half-inch thick base plate with a fillet weld. The base plate rests on non-shrink grout for leveling and is secured by four one-half-inch diameter Simpson Strong-Bolt anchors with a two-and-three-quarter-inch minimum embedment. The tube steel column aligns with the center of the six-inch metal stud wall and is spaced at eight feet on center with a seven-foot maximum height.
