The assembly consists of two parallel runs of cold-formed metal stud framing separated by a one-inch air gap, each filled with acoustic batt insulation. Both sides of the double framing are finished with double layers of gypsum wallboard. The independent stud rows provide acoustic separation between adjacent spaces.
