A rectangular metal duct passes through a concrete masonry unit wall without a damper, conforming to Underwriters Laboratories system number W-J-7021. Eighteen-gauge minimum galvanized steel angles frame the penetration on each side. Firestop sealant is applied on both sides of the wall around the duct perimeter.
