An interior architectural painted gypsum board soffit and fascia assembly is constructed over 3-5/8-inch metal studs spaced at 16 inches on center. The framing incorporates lateral bracing as detailed on sheet A-810 and is secured with 4 No. 10 sheet metal screws at each stud. A J-moulding is taped in and painted to match the gypsum board at the cove edge, and corner beads finish the exterior drywall corners. Painted gypsum board clads the metal studs on both the vertical fascia and the horizontal soffit surfaces.
