An interior storefront head assembly connects beneath a box beam header framed out with five-eighths inch Type X gypsum board on both sides. J-moldings finish the drywall edges where they meet the aluminum storefront framing. A one-quarter inch shim with fire caulking is detailed on both sides at the head interface. The storefront system incorporates a mullion and one-quarter inch laminated storefront glazing.
