This sub-slab venting section details the installation of a gas-mitigation and waterproofing assembly beneath a concrete slab. A prepared subgrade receives a non-woven geotextile beneath an approximate four-inch thick gas permeable aggregate layer. A sixty-mil thick liquid-applied gas vapor barrier is applied over a base course geomembrane and protected with a top protection course. A concrete slurry fill is placed at a minimum of four and a half inches thick prior to vapor barrier application. The concrete slab bears adjacent to the foundation wall, with exterior grade established at the upper level.
