Precast concrete pavers are laid over a one-inch sand setting bed resting on a five-inch concrete base. The edge is restrained by a three-sixteenths by two-and-one-quarter-inch heavy-duty aluminum paver restraint attached to the concrete slab with masonry nails at twelve inches on center maximum. The assembly sits atop a six-inch processed aggregate base and compacted subgrade. One-inch weep holes are provided at low points and four feet on center, covered by twelve-inch by twelve-inch squares of filter fabric. Paver joints are hand-tight and swept, maintaining one-sixteenth to one-eighth inch maximum width.
