Cold-formed steel sill tracks intersect vertical jamb studs using two-inch by two-inch by sixteen-gauge clip angles positioned at the top and bottom. Each leg of the clip angle fastens with three number ten sheet metal screws. The sill section requires a minimum distance of three inches from the top and bottom to the nearest web punch-out on the jamb stud. Detail A applies to spans less than or equal to four feet six inches, while Detail B applies to spans greater than eight feet and up to sixteen feet.
