The assembly consists of a 1 1/4 inch standard pipe handrail mounted to solid blocking through standard handrail brackets fastened with three Simpson SDS 1/4 inch by 2 inch screws. A bracket is provided at each return typically, with extensions or returns as detailed. The handrail features a 1 1/2 inch diameter pipe returning to the wall, maintaining a face of wall clearance. A separate guardrail detail shows a 1 1/2 inch tube rail and a 1 1/2 inch outside diameter pipe guardrail with a 3/8 inch diameter steel receptor rod.
