This plan detail shows a tile finish installed over a one-half inch cementitious backer unit set in medium bed mortar. Two-by-two inch metal tabs are spaced at sixteen inches on center and welded to a metal plate, then fastened to studs for blind attachment. An MT25 steel plate provides backing at the portal transition.
