An aluminum door frame supports an insulated glass unit and bears directly on a concrete foundation wall or slab. Caulk and seal are applied at the perimeter joints between the frame and the concrete substrate to maintain weather-tightness. Adjacent exterior landscaping meets the assembly at the exterior grade level. Flashing and caulking are required for a complete seal.
