The assembly transitions from a carpeted floor surface to a WD-8 wood ramp with a slope of 7/8 inch per 12 inches. A Schluter trim profile is installed at the junction to protect the carpet edge and provide a smooth transition to the ramp surface. The carpet is finished flush against the vertical leg of the trim, which separates the floor plane from the sloped ramp.
