A hollow structural section beam penetrates a fire-rated wall assembly at a hollow structural section column. Fire sealant fills the annular space between the beam and the wall finish to maintain the fire rating of the partition. A vapor retarder is installed at the interior face of the wall assembly. Structural member sizes for the hollow structural section column and beam are referenced to the structural drawings.
