An aluminum storefront window head condition integrates a composite head, backer rod, and sealant set three-eighths of an inch back from the face. A three-quarter-inch tongue-and-groove soffit is blind-nailed to a three-quarter-inch wood block, backed by three-quarter-inch plywood sheathing. Framing is installed per structural requirements, including steel studs and an I-beam member. Cavity insulation consists of foamed-in-place insulation filled six inches deep, adjacent to a ceiling drift joint.
