Characters, symbols, and their backgrounds feature a non-glare finish with contrasting light characters on a dark background or dark characters on a light background. Lettering is raised 1/32 inch with a minimum character height of 3 inches, accompanied by corresponding Grade II braille located flush left or centered. Tactile exit signs comply with 2016 California Building Code Section 1003.2.8.6 and Section 11B-703, required at grade-level exterior exit doors, stair or ramp exit doors, and exit enclosure or passageway doors.
