This wall assembly is framed with six-inch metal studs containing batt insulation and faced on the interior with five-eighths-inch gypsum board. The exterior side of the studs is covered with gypsum sheathing and a continuous liquid applied membrane for weather-resistive moisture protection. The exterior finish transitions between an exterior insulation and finish system with a minimum R-seven rating and a stone veneer over one and one-half inches of rigid insulation with a minimum R-seven point five rating, cement board, and one-half-inch mortar. A stone wall cap sits at the transition, and a railing is mounted using two-and-one-half-inch furring strips spaced four feet on center.
