A roof drain is installed through roof sheathing with tapered rigid insulation or equal at the drain sump, maintaining a slope of less than three inches to one horizontal foot. The drain unit is installed per the manufacturer recommendations with continuous sealant at the flange. A reinforced membrane waterproofing layer extends over the rigid insulation and terminates into the drain flashing. Fasteners secure the assembly through the structural roof framing.
