An L4x4x3/8 by 10-inch long structural steel angle serves as the mounting bracket for a guiderail bearing connection. The guiderail bears directly on the angle with a 3/8 by 2 by 9-inch plate utilized to avoid the angle radius, and can be trimmed or shimmed as required. Anchorage to the pit floor is achieved using 1/2-inch diameter wedge anchors with a 3 1/4-inch minimum embedment, set through slotted holes in the angle with weld washers if desired. A 3/16-inch fillet weld secures the top connection as indicated by the field weld symbol. The concrete pit floor requires a maximum 2 percent slope at the angle, with full bearing ensured by grinding the concrete flat or providing grout.
